Happy Fall Break

I have to be thankful for working at a school when I look at the calendar and I see, fall break, followed by winter break and a handful of other random days off. Thank you.

On that note, there will be pumpkin bars(thanks Ang), oatmeal scotchies, and  various baked goods at my house this weekend. Also, I'm going to take a stab at making my own pumpkin puree. I fully expect to make a horrible mess. Good thing Tim's at work!

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y

Oh Saturdays,

A beautiful day to relax and enjoy the little cold snap that has hit the town. In case you didn't know, not only does it always rain here-it's cold too. We love it though. Tim knows cold means good hunting and I get to bake and crochet to my heart's content. Today I was feeling unsettled and the checkbook is locked up tight so we decided to move around furniture to make the living room more cozy.

As a dinner treat Tim brought home some African food that a coworker made for us. We have no idea what it's called but it had venison, fish, spinach, and lots of spices. We put it over some noodles and enjoyed.

Now we're just chillin' in front of the tv in our divine design. Ernie is sleeping on one couch and Lilly on the other. Too bad we have to get up early tomorrow-we could stay here all night.

Tis the Season

I am now a choir director, choreographer, and sound tech. This is the life of a music teacher I guess. All I can think about nowdays is winter musicals. I walk around humming Christmas tunes and it's only October. And just so you know....our musical will be ridiculously AWESOME!!!!

Cello, like Jello with a ch-

I'm crazy. FOR CELLO. I'm renting one along with a friend of a friend and we are going to practice cello. I started honing up on my skills today- it's been about two years since I last played one. I'm not gonna lie, there were some horrible sounds at first, but it's all coming together. It is a beautiful instrument.
Between cello, organizing three christmas programs for 140+ kids, and attempting to clean the house...my days are full to the brim. SO happy!

Halloween Costumes!

So I dove in head first and started sewing Halloween costumes for my nieces.

First up is Bella who wants to be princess Belle.

So I made a big gold dress with a pick up skirt and lots of silk and ruffles.
Ooooh, I love ruffles.
It's a two piece dress that laces up in the back so it adjusts.
Here's a look at it.

Sorry for the bad pic, but you get the idea. Just have to hem it up and put ruffles on the bottom.

Next up is tater tot. She's going to be Minnie Mouse. I sewed her up a little jumper
with a poofy skirt. She'll wear black underneath.

Just gotta figure out the mouse ears now.
Now that these are almost done, maybe I should start thinking about a costume for Tim and I!
